SPRING FRIENDSHIP LUNCH
Saturday 04 March 2023
12:00 to 14:00
Our Spring Friendship Lunches are in support of the Bishop of Southwark’s Lent Appeal
which this year is focussing on projects working to improve the mental health and wellbeing of people across local communities. These lunches are a great opportunity to come
together in friendship in a warm and welcoming setting with old friends, and to make
some new ones.
We’ll be serving a relaxed lunch consisting of a pick and mix of delicious warming
homemade soup, bread, salad, cheese and pickles and all ages are welcome. Our lunches
are designed to be child friendly and stress
free, so if you have little ones, we would be
delighted to see them too. We’ll have some
finger food (or you can bring their own
snacks) plus some Easter themed crafts to
keep even the craftiest little fingers busy.
For older restless fingers we’ll have some grown-up mindfulness colouring, and there’s
no upper-age limit for the Easter crafts! For restless minds we’ll have an optional general
knowledge quiz sheet to get the little grey cells working if that’s your thing, but of course
if you prefer to just eat lunch in good company, that’s fine too!
We recognise that many people will be feeling increasingly anxious about the rising cost
of living just now and we don’t wish anyone to feel excluded or be unable to participate
in our lunches because of financial worries. For this reason, this year we will be asking
for a voluntary contribution using a discreet donation box in the hall. There will be no
request to pay or explain on entry. The suggested voluntary minimum donation is £3 per
adult. Children’s food and all activities are free.
These are Drop-In events so there’s no need to book, but if you haven’t been before and
have questions or would just like some more information, please do feel free to contact
me on 07710 411587.
I may be working so if I’m unavailable when you call please text me and I’ll call back.
