Our next concert, on Saturday 11th November at 7.30pm, will be conducted by our chairman, Jonathan Maynard. The first half will be the Beethoven ‘Nameday’ overture, and this will be followed by Schubert’s third symphony. The second half of the concert will, I promise, blow your socks off! The mightily talented Haru Ushigusa will be playing the tremendously difficult, but very popular, Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. You might remember Haru. She played (exquisitely) Vaughan Williams ‘The Lark Ascending’ in our all-English concert some years ago, and then last November – after a long, unwelcome break because of the pandemic – the Beethoven violin concerto, to great acclaim.
